The Need for Salvation

The Need for Salvation

God created man and wanted to have a lasting relationship with him but due to man’s disobedience sin entered and created a wedge between God and man. But God so loved the world that he gave his only son Jesus to die on the cross for the atonement of sin and to save us from the destruction of death. John beautifully writes it in his book chapter 3 verse 16. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life”.

Salvation belongs to our God and nowhere else can man find the cleansing, the healing, the redemption of his soul. Man by nature longs and yearns for the reformation and restoration of his soul… there is a longing inbuilt in him he runs here and there to find atonement for his sin… but to no avail he turns to creation he turns to nature, because they are more powerful than him… but yet his soul doesn’t find rest. He fashions something by his hands and puts a name on it and tells babbling stories about the one he fashioned and lashes his body out to please them yet deep inside he knows no peace. Paul understood it and clearly pinpoints it in the book of Acts 4:12 “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

You need Salvation

Solomon in all his wisdom makes a crystal clear declaration in the book of Ecclesiastes that since God put eternity in the hearts of men; men by nature seek for the supernatural to quench that thirst and longing that pounds or weighs heavily on his heart; little does he know that he needs the Savior to bring salvation to his troubled soul.

His soul can find rest in God alone through the cleansing of sin, this cleansing comes from admitting to Christ that we have sinned and fall short from the Glory of God and seeking his forgiveness through confession and the final part believe in Jesus Christ ( Acts 16:30-31) that he came down to this Earth and lived among us and took the sins of this world though he didn’t sin yes the scripture states it in 2 Corinthians 5:21 “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” Yes  he died on the cross to make us righteous and as we know the wages of sin is death but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.. Romans 6:23. He died on the cross to conquer death by resurrecting from the grave and through resurrection paving the way of salvation for you and me.

The greatest gift the maker has given us is the gift of salvation though through disobedience man lost his eternal life and was separated from God … God in all his love Restored unto man his glory by sending His beloved son as a sacrificial lamb and made atonement for the sin of all mankind and through his blood redeemed us from the tomb of eternal destruction and saved us from hell’s eternal flame.. And restoring unto us Eternal life through Salvation.

Salvation

salvation is not an add on badge a Christian can put  on his chest and be proud of; as states the scriptures in Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”  Instead he should be grateful to his creator for bestowing on himself such a priceless gift and be humbled at the magnitude of its depth depicting God’s Love and only through Faith the completion takes place, faith in Christ  the fulcrum in which the whole salvation is fulfilled. Clearly stated in Romans 10:9-10 “That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”

It’s not by our righteousness or us being good we are saved and it doesn’t mean then you can go on living a bad life… no it’s only his grace, He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time as stated in 2 Timothy 1:9 we can’t reach holiness through our works do you want to know why because through one man’s disobedience sin entered and it reigns in our very bodies we are begotten in sin right from birth sinful nature forms a part and parcel of our life. It’s stuck to us even if you try you can’t separate yourself from it only through his salvation we become free from it… . That’s why we need, I repeat, we need salvation.

For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age. Titus illustrates it in his book chapter 2:11-12….only through his grace we can make it out from this worldly maze of sin and that salvation is our only hope to be saved. “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.” Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself. Salvation belongs to the Lord; your blessing be on your people! Selah.
